Emily Cairns - JUMP Math

Working towards a Fast-track Business Management BA(hons) degree at Queen Margaret University in Edinburgh, Scotland. A fast-track degree is essentially a four-year degree completed in three years. Come September, Emily enters her final year at university and hopes to write her dissertation on the use of YouTube in advertising, focusing on the computer games industry.

Emily is working as an intern at JUMP Math in Toronto. JUMP (junior undiscovered maths prodigies) is a social enterprise with the vision that “Every child can learn math and love it!” JUMP has successfully developed a maths curriculum program for use in Canadian and American schools to teach children maths at an elementary school stage. Emily’s role will be as a research intern where she will look at research on how JUMP develops maths skills in students, which will then be used for funding purposes.
